This portrait session in Santa Ponça began with a completely overcast sky above the sea. For most of the day, the weather felt uncertain and the light kept changing constantly. Even so, the beach maintained a calm and very special atmosphere. The Mediterranean scenery and the gentle movement of the sea also created the perfect setting for photography. Very often, even the grayest days end up giving us the most beautiful light.
Sara and I decided to continue with the session even though the sky was still cloudy. As we walked along the beach, soft tones slowly started to appear through the clouds. Later, the sunset completely transformed the landscape with pastel colors and golden reflections over the water. Sara’s relaxed and charismatic energy also made everything flow very naturally. Because of that, the photographs feel fresh, spontaneous, and full of personality.
I love working on sessions where the light changes and surprises us constantly, because many times the most special scenery appears when we leave room for the unexpected. Cloudy skies also tend to add very cinematic textures and colors to the images. In this session, the combination of Santa Ponça’s landscape, the soft light, and Sara’s natural essence creates delicate photographs full of atmosphere.
