  • COMPLEMÉNTENSE ! Cuando elijan qué ponerse siempre es mejor que elijan complementarse o de lo contrario, contrastar. Lo pueden lograr llevando la misma gama de colores o colores que queden bien entre sí.
  • COLORES. En términos de ropa, recomiendo que usen colores neutros. Neutros no tiene por qué significar crema o blanco, puede haber neutros en cada color. Por ejemplo, mostaza, verde seco, azul marino, naranja apagado, etc. Traten de  evitar los colores fluorescentes o chillones. 
  • ESTAMPAS. Eviten las estampas grandes y/o llamativas, ya que estas distraerían la atención de sus caras en las fotos. Las flores pequeñas o las rayas sutiles siempre quedan bien.
  • PLANCHEN bien la ropa antes de la sesión así evitarán marcas molestas que luego no se verían bien en las fotografías.
  • ELIJAN UNA PALETA DE COLORES. Yo recomiendo que elijan de 2 a 3 colores al momento de escoger la ropa, así todos podrán encontrar prendas que complementen fácilmente con las de los demás. Si usan pantalones oscuros, escojan blusas o camisetas de colores claros para contrastar. O si usan un pantalones claros, las camisetas podrían ser oscuras. Si quieren, pueden hacer que los niños combinen con los padres o entre ellos, ya que esto siempre se ve bien en las fotos.
  • MOVILIDAD. Si tienen niños pequeños, vístanlos con ropa que les permita moverse con facilidad, con la que estén cómodos y que no tengan que estar ajustando continuamente para las fotos.
  • EVITEN LAS ESTAMPAS. Cuando hay más de 2 personas en las fotos es especialmente importante evitar las estampas grandes y llamativas.
  • PLANCHEN bien la ropa antes de la sesión así evitarán marcas molestas que luego no se verían bien en las fotografías.

Lo más importante para mi es que al momento de hacer las fotos se sientan y se vean como ustedes mismos. Para lograrlo, lo ideal es que se vistan como lo harían para salir a algún sitio lindo; de este modo en sus fotos se verán muy bien pero a la vez se sentirán cómodos.

Coordinar bien los outfits que usarán es esencial para lograr fotografías familiares que no pasen de moda.

  • PICK A COLOR SCHEME. Choose 2–3 colors that go well together, so everyone can complement each other without looking too “matchy.” For example, if you’re wearing dark pants, pair them with a light-colored top — and vice versa. Matching your kids is totally optional, but having them complement your outfit works just as well!
  • FOR KIDS. Kids love to move, so make sure they’re wearing something comfortable that they won’t be tugging at or adjusting all the time.
  • AVOID TOO MANY PATTERNS — especially when more than two people are involved. If multiple people wear bold patterns, the outfits may overpower the image. If you do want to include a pattern, keep it subtle and balanced with solids.
  • Make sure everyone’s clothes are IRONED so wrinkles don’t distract from what matters most: your faces and your connection!
  • COMPLEMENT AND COORDINATE! When choosing your outfits, you can either match or contrast with each other — it’s totally up to you.
  • COLORS. I recommend wearing complementary tones and neutrals. Neutrals don’t have to be just gray or beige — every color has its own neutral version. Think mustard yellow, forest green, navy blue, burnt orange, etc. Try to avoid bright, fluorescent, or overly bold colors, as they can be distracting in photos.
  • PATTERNS. Avoid large, loud, or busy patterns, as they can draw attention away from your faces. Smaller prints or subtle floral patterns are always a good choice.
  • Pro tip: Be sure to IRON your clothes— big wrinkles can also distract from your faces!

what to wear FOR your photoshoot?

The most important thing to me is that you feel comfortable and look like yourselves during the session. Ideally, dress how you would for a nice outing — that way you’ll feel relaxed while still looking great.

Having coordinated outfits is key to timeless, cohesive family photos.
